Motorhome & Campervan Hire Scotland

Why hire from Atlas

Hiring a motorhome from a depot with its own fleet and its own team isn’t every operator’s model. Plenty of sites that look like hire companies are actually booking platforms for vehicles owned by members of the public. Atlas Motorhomes is the other thing: a Glasgow depot, a fleet under two years old, and a team that hires its own vehicles, end of story.

Atlas Motorhomes runs its own fleet

Every vehicle on the Atlas fleet is owned, maintained, and turned around by Atlas at the Glasgow depot. The fleet is uniformly four-berth, all under two years old, and we have both manual and automatic. None of it carries hire-company signage; the vehicle on the drive looks like a vehicle, not an advert. If something needs fixing between hires the workshop does it, and if a customer asks about the vehicle they’re picking up the team has driven it. Most Atlas customers head north (Skye, the west coast, the NC500), and the team has driven those too.

Glasgow depot, easy to find

The depot sits 400 yards from M8 junction 19 in central Glasgow, about 15 minutes by taxi from Glasgow Airport, and a 10-to-15 minute walk from Queen Street and Central stations. The site is gated, signposted, and covered by multi-camera CCTV.

On-site parking for your own car is available for the hire period for a small fee, so you can drive in, swap vehicles, and leave the day-to-day car behind.

What’s included

The published price is the price. There are no booking fees and no card fees. Most of what customers expect to be a “paid extra” is already in:

  • TV/DVD and powerful heaters. Standard on every motorhome, not options.
  • Insurance for the first driver, with full UK relay roadside cover.
  • Camping & Caravanning Club membership for the hire period, with 30% off Club site pitching fees.
  • One gas cylinder, a full kitchen kit, a 240v hook-up cable, water hose, and toilet chemical.
  • Road atlas, campsite guide and maps in every vehicle.
  • Unlimited mileage on hires of six days or more.

Optional extras (bedding, towels, bike racks, second gas cylinder, on-site parking, additional drivers) are priced separately, and listed on the booking page so you can see the total before you commit.

Who you’ll deal with

Atlas isn’t a call-centre. All enquiry emails and complaints come back from Richard Offord, who founded Atlas. Pamela Offord, co-founder, runs the operational side: fleet logistics, reservations, paperwork. On collection day, John, our Operations Manager, walks each customer round the vehicle and answers route questions; he’s the team member most often named in Google reviews. Between hires, John, one of our customer liaisons, takes care of cleaning, checks, and the pre-arrival call. None of this is outsourced.

We get back to you

Whether the contact is by phone, email, or social, response times are consistent. If a query needs longer to answer in full, the team makes contact in the meantime. Nobody gets forgotten.

Quality between every hire

Every vehicle returns to the depot for an intensive turnaround between hires. Cleaned, checked, refilled, ready. Atlas doesn’t sub the work to third parties, because the vehicle the next customer collects is the vehicle Atlas hands over; the standard sits with Atlas, not with someone the customer never meets.
