Motorhome & Campervan Hire Scotland
Trip ideas

If you carry a Blue Light Card, your next hire from Atlas Motorhomes comes with a Blue Light discount on our standard rate. Below: who qualifies, how to claim it, and what you actually get when you collect the keys at our Glasgow depot.

Atlas is a family-run business in Glasgow. The Blue Light Discount is our way of recognising that the people doing the work the rest of us depend on deserve a proper holiday at the end of it. A motorhome is a particularly good way to take one. You set the pace, you stop where you like, and the dog comes too.

Who qualifies?

Anyone with a valid Blue Light Card. The Blue Light Card scheme covers the NHS, the emergency services, the armed forces, and the wider key-worker community it recognises, including current personnel, retired personnel, and volunteers where the scheme allows it.

If your role qualifies you for a Blue Light Card, the Atlas discount is yours. We don’t keep a separate eligibility list; the card is the proof.

How to claim your Blue Light discount

  1. Get a quote on the dates and vehicle you want.
  2. Call the depot on 0141 374 2126 and tell us you’re a Blue Light Card holder.
  3. We’ll apply the discount to your booking before deposit.

The discount is applied at the booking stage, not as a refund afterwards, so call us before you pay the deposit rather than after.

At a glance

Blue Light Card = the proof Anyone with a valid Blue Light Card qualifies. NHS, emergency services, armed forces, and the wider key-worker community the scheme recognises.

Call before deposit Discount is applied at booking, not as a refund afterwards. Get your quote, then phone the depot on 0141 374 2126 to apply it.

Standard hire, no fine print Same fleet, same handover, same inclusions as any Atlas booking. The Blue Light Discount comes off the hire rate, not bundled with conditions.

Anywhere you want to go Scotland is the most-asked-for; Lake District, Goodwood, CarFest, festivals also run from the depot. Whatever fits the leave you have.

What you’re actually hiring

Every motorhome in the Atlas fleet is four-berth, under two years old, and mostly automatic. They drive on a standard UK B-category licence: no C1, no special test. The handling is closer to a long van than a lorry, and the reversing camera does most of the parking work.

What’s included as standard, before any discount:

  • Fully comprehensive insurance for the first driver.
  • National roadside cover with relay back to the depot.
  • Camping & Caravanning Club membership, for 25% off club sites.
  • Full kitchen kit, gas, hook-up cable, road atlas and campsite guide.
  • Unlimited mileage on hires of six days or more.

Awnings, bedding, and on-site parking at the depot are paid optional extras, listed on the What’s included in your hire page so there are no surprises at collection.

Where people take them

Most Blue Light hires we see head north. The west coast of Scotland is a long, slow road designed for a vehicle that sleeps where it stops; the NC500 takes a fortnight if you do it properly; Mull and the Outer Hebrides reward people who like ferries and short drives between long views.

You don’t have to go north, though. The Lake District is a four-hour run from the depot. We send vehicles to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, to Goodwood, to CarFest, and to most of the bigger summer music festivals, where waking up in your own bed beats the campsite shuttle queue every time.

What collection day looks like

You arrive at the Glasgow depot. We walk you round the vehicle for about half an hour: how the heating works, where the hook-up cable lives, which switch does what. We’ve already sent you a video and a printed guide, so the walk-round is conversation, not lecture. You leave with the keys, a recommendation or two, and the WhatsApp number to text if anything comes up on the road.

Low-fuss, no upselling.
