Photo ID first Photocard licence is enough on its own. No photo on the licence? Bring a passport or photo ID. Non-UK drivers: passport or photo ID.
Every driver completes a short check-in at the Atlas Motorhomes depot in Glasgow before the keys go over. We need to verify identity, address, and a payment card for the security deposit. Every person who’ll drive needs to bring the same paperwork. Missing items on the day means the hire can’t go ahead, and the booking is treated as a cancellation, so it’s worth a careful read before you set off.
What every driver brings on collection day
- Photocard driving licence. UK photocard with your current address, not expired.
- If your licence has no photo. Bring a passport or photo ID card.
- Non-UK customers. Passport or photo ID instead of a UK licence.
- Two proofs of address. From two separate sources, dated within the last 90 days. Council tax is the exception to the 90-day rule.
- Online licence check code. Mainland UK licences only. Get it from the DVLA’s View Driving Licence service.
- Card for the £2,000 deposit. Credit or debit, in a driver’s name. No American Express, no cashcards. One deposit covers the booking, even with multiple drivers.

The name and address on both documents must match what’s on your licence. Please don’t email copies before your hire.
What we can’t accept
Anything to do with insurance: policies, schedules or certificates. Plus anything that doesn’t meet the rules above.
If you’re unsure whether a document will pass, send a quick query before you travel and the team will sense-check it. Bringing the right paperwork the first time keeps the check-in short, so you spend the start of your hire on the road rather than back at the desk.
